This year, CASFV’s Puro Empower will honor the County Attorney’s Protective Order Unit, led by Mrs. Jo Anne Bernal, the first female County Attorney in El Paso’s history. The 14-member Protective Order Unit, directed by Aaron Setliff is charged with El Paso County’s efforts in obtaining effective and often lifesaving help for survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. A force of advocacy in our community, the Protective Order Unit is on the frontlines of the battle against domestic violence and sexual assault. We honor the professionals and their leadership who do the hard work, day in and day out, fighting for the rights of victims.
