October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
This year's theme is Go Purple Together, inspired by the Texas Council on Family Violence's Go Purple Campaign. Every year, TCFV releases statistics on the number of adults killed in domestic violence relationships.
2018 marked the highest number of women, (174 women), killed my a man while in an abusive relationship. TCFV marks counties in Texas with zero domestic violence related deaths using the color purple. One DV-related death is one too many.
This month, help us spread awareness from wherever you are that a violence free future is possible. Let's start with our own communities!
*Note, these numbers do not include same-sex relationships nor identifies trans women or men killed in dating/domestic violence relationships*
